Who are we?

Dudley Council is setting up the Dudley Disability Service, which will be in place from 1 April 2018. The service brings together teams working with people with disabilities in children's social care, special educational needs and adult's social care into one central service. The new service will provide services for people of all ages - children, young people and adults - with disabilities:

In the meantime, you can access services for people of all ages with disabilities through the existing services.

What do we do?

The vision for the Dudley Disability Service has been co-produced with service users, families and carers. It is to:

'Support children, young people and adults with disabilities in Dudley to achieve a full and happy life, in which they have independence, gain skills and knowledge, and have confidence and a social life'

The aims of the service are to provide people who use the service with a seamless and consistent service across children's and adults social care and special educational needs; and to give people the right resources at the right time, better results from using the service and a better experience.

The service will have close links with health, housing, mental health and employment services.

Engagement with service users, families and carers has shown that they are very positive about the benefits of an all age disability service.
